The Solar Energy Technician program is designed to provide educational opportunities for students seeking to enter the photovoltaic and renewable energy field.
The program combines technical and skills training in the areas of photovoltaic markets and installations, safety protocols, electrical knowledge, system components, photovoltaic sizing, electrical/mechanical design, photovoltaic performance analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting techniques. The program prepares students for entry-level employment opportunities in solar installation, sales and operations.
As a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Registered Provider, this program is built to prepare students for the NABCEP Photovoltaic Associate certification. The PV Associate is meant to encompass all of the knowledge and fundamental principles of the application, design, installation, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems. The learning areas in our program are broad in scope and cover the most important knowledge that anyone working in the PV industry should understand.
